Antique Victorian Crimper Collar Cuff Fluter
19th century Victorian cast iron clothing fluter. Made to crimp collars, cuffs, dresses etc c1880s. An essential tool for the day but this one is rare. Most common people would have had a more simple devise. This one was high end for the day.
Made by "American Machine Co" this piece is made out of solid, heavy cast iron but the crimping rollers seem to be solid brass. This fluter / crimper would have clamped to the table. There is a lever that opens and closes the rollers for easy garment insertion. Just turn the wooden handled crank and it's that easy! (see video for quick demo)
In good shape for the age but does have some wear to the finish and paint including some mild surface rusting in a few spots. (see all photos)
12" long (7.5" without handle) x 6.5" and 6" tall.
