Vintage MOP Shell Snuff Heart Bottle Pendant

Vintage snuff box in shape of heart made of Mother of Pearl shells. Can be hung as pendant. I believe this is most likely a production of India c1960s. Please look at all photos to determine for yourself. 

Made of several fused shell pieces and capped with a silver tone hinged lid. It is my belief that this is a mid century production, made in the image of much older 19th century snuff boxes. Back then these were used by ladies because it was considered more lady-like for women to use snuff forms of tobacco and not smoke like the men. This type would have been hung around neck for easy access. 

A great looking vintage decor piece for your bathroom or bedroom.
